About

Precision is the practice.

38 years of bookkeeping experience — and I still love the work.

I'm Suzanne DeCree, a Pittsburgh-based bookkeeper serving small businesses, sole proprietors, and independent contractors across the United States.

I established Emerald Victorian on a simple conviction: small business owners deserve financial clarity, not confusion. My practice is built on three pillars — accuracy, discretion, and clear communication. I won't drown you in jargon, and I won't let your books fall into disarray.

When your records are in proper order, better decisions follow naturally. So does peace of mind. My scope ends where your accountant's begins: books reconciled, closed, and ready for whoever handles your taxes.

Who We Serve

For the self-made and the self-employed.

My clients are business owners who are excellent at what they do — and who didn't get into business to manage a ledger. They want their books handled correctly and left alone until something needs their attention.

I specialize in creative professionals, independent contractors, and small businesses with the kind of complexity that generic bookkeeping software glosses over.

  • Multi-state businesses
  • Small LLCs
  • Service businesses

The Process

Simple from the start.

Four steps from first conversation to books in order — and steady hands after that.

I
Consultation

We talk through your business, your books, and what's working — and what isn't. No obligation, no pressure.

II
Engagement Letter

Clear scope, clear expectations. You know exactly what you're getting and what it costs before we begin.

III
Onboarding

Access is established, accounts are reviewed, and any backlog is assessed. We get things in order before moving forward.

IV
Ongoing Retainer

Monthly close, reconciled books, ready for your accountant. You hear from me when something needs your attention.

Victorian-era professional at work
The craft of keeping books hasn't changed in two centuries. The discipline, the exactness, the obligation to get it right — that's the work. I've been doing it for 38 years, and the standard is the same today as it was on day one.
— Suzanne DeCree, Emerald Victorian LLC
